Dr. Wang is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Biotechnology at National Tsing Hua University, with a BS degree from Tunghai University, a MS degree from National Tsing Hua University, and a PhD degree from the College of Medicine in Molecular Genetics at University of Illinois at Chicago. Before becoming a PI, he worked as a Research Associate at University of Chicago and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in the areas of cell biology, pulmonary biology, genetic engineered mouse cancer model and gene expression. His research has focused on the role of the proliferation specific transcription factor Forkhead Box M1 (FoxM1) in lung cancer and development.
In this talk, Dr. Wang will share with you his career journey in academia, provide his experience of job application and MOST and NHRI research grant writing, and assist you to understand the practice and expectations of being an academic and a principal investigator in Taiwan.
